LOVED this book. It was the first book that seems realistic that I've read in a while. There is a little tiny bit of violence and sexual content but it's very tame and classy. And not like those novels that have none of that and seem totally implausible. The lead female character is a role model to me; she doesn't get into a relationship until she really knows what the guy is like. So I enjoyed that aspect because then their love seemed real. There are a few surprises along the way. This was a great book, and I want to read more by the author.Product details

I did enjoy the story. Had some tears and some angry outbursts. Even rolled my eyes a couple of few times. I didn’t like the excessive use of emphasis’s. To many parties...we got it the were in college, but like really!?? Story could have been shorter, less fluff. Really did enjoy the plot twist...even though it was highjacked by the unnecessary conflict in the end...so unnecessary. But really did love the plot twist since i usually predict them in contemporary romance books. But not this one!
Loved the story. Had real life drama to the story, not a historical romance. I loved that the things that kept coming up were not over exaggerated and followed some problems that many couples face.
First off this book is great. If I could give it more stars I would. Let Me Be The One is an book that I can relate to in so many mays. Everyone thinks my life is perfect but if they put my shoes on they will see the difference. It was a easy to read book even with me having a learning disorder and not being able to read good. I'm so glad I got this book.
I read a lot because I have a lot of downtime at work and it's something I can do that's quiet. I enjoyed this book. Typically with the kindle free downloads, you get bad quality of writing. This was not the case. This book was well written and a good storyline for a free title. It's kind of predictable but then again what romance novel isn't? You know they'd get together in the end. SPOILER But the baby totally threw me off. All in all I enjoyed it! Would read again.

The only reason I can think of why I didn't immediately leave a review for this lovely story is that I stayed up late to read it and promised myself I'd do it the following day. And as we all know, sometimes we forget, which is what must have happened. I was leaving a review for LET ME HEAL YOUR HEART, which I read today, when I realized my mistake, which I'm rectifying now.
LET ME BE THE ONE was the second of Lily Foster's books I read, after LET ME FALL. And while it didn't quite have the same impact on me as that luminous story, it was still a beautifully told tale of young love and dealing with the consequences of our actions. Ms. Foster has a way of drawing the reader in, of making us live the story right along with the H/h and the secondary characters. She doesn't take the easy way out of tough situations, either, putting her H/h through trials by fire. But that only makes the HEA ending sweeter, knowing they had to fight for it, the same way we do in real life. And that makes for a heck of an interesting story!
This story ebbed and flowed through the tentative coming together, life as a couple and partnership. Strong young woman, with conviction and patience. Attractive, yet immature and cowardly, young man stumbling through his first serious relationship. Somehow, between their families, friends and timely inspiration, they make it to a good place.
The writing is lovely, painting the picture of these two young people clawing their way to the love they both want and believe in. The emotions, good and bad, are gripping. The pace is quick but unhurried. A pleasure to read.

Tom Farrell had a crush on Darcy Donovan from the first time he had seen her. She was absolutely gorgeous and her heart seemed to match her looks. However, she was his friend’s girlfriend so he had to back off. After a fiasco with his own girlfriend and when Nick began harassing Darcy, Tom decided it was time to make his own move. Then Darcy took a year off to travel to Spain for school.
When Darcy returned, she and Tom began seeing each other. They had spent a night together with his parents before she had left for Spain. They had talked until the wee hours of the morning and he had made quite an impression on her. Their romance is not smooth sailing. Old girlfriends keep popping up and Nick keeps in the picture. Tom is so insistent on not getting in the way of any future plans Darcy makes that he almost loses her. Each time, they get back together; but each time, some degree of trust is lost. Will they make it?
